The BossHoss
Formed in Berlin in 2004 around Alec Völkel and Sascha Vollmer, The BossHoss developed a blend of country rock, rock’n’roll and punk influences, carried by an urban‑western image. The band first gained attention in Germany with country‑style rearrangements of pop and hip‑hop songs, an approach that defined their debut album “Internashville Urban Hymns” (2005), followed by “Rodeo Radio” (2006). From “Stallion Battalion” (2007) and “Do or Die” (2009) they introduced more original compositions while retaining direct choruses, rhythmic guitars and rockabilly touches. “Low Voltage” (2010) offered more stripped‑down versions of existing tracks, while “Liberty of Action” (2011) and “Flames of Fame” (2013) established The BossHoss as a live act heavily present on European rock and country festival stages. With “Dos Bros” (2015) and “Black Is Beautiful” (2018) their sound opened further to pop and more produced arrangements; “Electric Horsemen” (2023) continues the crossover between contemporary country and electric rock. Alongside touring, The BossHoss increased their visibility in German media, notably through the members’ recurring appearances on televised music shows.
