The Apers

Formed in Rotterdam in 1996, The Apers evolve in melodic and direct pop-punk, sung in English, nourished by American punk rock of the 1990s and played in a tight band format around Kevin Aper, with several changes of guitarists over time. The trajectory of The Apers is first built on the European independent punk scene, with a first EP, Teenage Drama Every Kid Will Understand in 2000, then a series of albums released on Stardumb Records: The Apers in 2001, The Buzz Electric in 2003 and Skies Are Turning Blue in 2005. The band then continues with Reanimate My Heart in 2007, You Are Only as Strong as the Table You Dance On in 2009 and Confetti on the Floor in 2014, while also publishing splits, a compilation and the live album Live at the Eldorado in 2012. The sound of The Apers rests on short, fast, very melodic songs, driven by simple and taut guitars, catchy choruses and a live energy forged through numerous dates in Europe and the United States. After several years of intermittent activity, The Apers added the EP Surprise! in 2023 to their discography.
