Sydney Blu

Under the name Sydney Blu, Joanne Judith-Mary Hill has developed a career as a DJ and producer since the early 2000s. Born in Thunder Bay, Ontario, she first established herself within Canadian house and techno circles before moving onto the international scene. Sydney Blu operates at the intersection of house, tech house and a direct, club-focused techno, producing tracks built around tight grooves, pronounced basslines and a tension designed for the dancefloor. Her discography has been released both on her own label Blu Music and on imprints such as mau5trap, Knee Deep in Sound, VIVa Music and Mad Tech Records, placing her within an electronic landscape centred on club formats and DJ-set material. Over the course of her career she has also cultivated remix and collaboration work in the North American electronic scene while maintaining a regular presence behind the decks.
