Stonebwoy

Born in Ashaiman in the Greater Accra region of Ghana, Livingstone Etse Satekla records under the name Stonebwoy and works in a repertoire that spans afropop, afrobeats, dancehall and reggae, with vocals that move from Jamaican patois to Ghanaian languages and English. Active since the late 2000s, Stonebwoy broke through in the early 2010s with Grade #1 in 2012 and Necessary Evil in 2014, then released the EP Livingstone in 2015, Epistles of Mama in 2017, Anloga Junction in 2020, 5th Dimension in 2023 and Up & Running in 2024. His writing mixes melodic hooks, dancehall phrasing, modern reggae and Afro-Caribbean productions often centered on groove and voice. Over his career Stonebwoy has collaborated with artists such as Sarkodie, Burna Boy, Keri Hilson, Sean Paul, Beenie Man and Davido, moving between Ghanaian stages, international reggae circuits and festivals in Europe, Africa and the Caribbean. In 2022 he joined Def Jam Africa, a step that marks a new phase more broadly oriented toward flows between reggae, afro‑fusion and contemporary African pop.
