Signum

Formed in the Netherlands in 1997, Signum initially brought together Ron Hagen and Pascal M around a melodic, energetic trance rooted in the Dutch scene of the late 1990s. The project quickly found its place in club circuits and specialized radio with tracks such as What Ya Got 4 Me (1998), Coming On Strong, The Timelord, First Strike and Push Through, which reflect a taste for crisp synthetic lines, progressive builds and a direct rhythmic drive—at the intersection of uplifting trance and a more tech-leaning aesthetic. Alongside its own productions, Signum produced remixes for artists associated with the trance and progressive spheres, notably Armin van Buuren, Tiësto, ATB and OceanLab. In 2007, after Pascal M relocated to Norway, Ron Hagen continued Signum alone and steered the project toward a more hybrid sound while retaining a recognizably trance foundation. Since then Signum has continued to release new material and perform on electronic stages connected both to 2000s trance and to its more recent extensions.
