Si Cranstoun

Initially present on the streets of London as a busker for many years, Si Cranstoun built his career between ska culture, rhythm and blues, soul and 1950s–1960s–inspired rock’n’roll. English, he first became known with The Dualers, a band he founded with his brother Tyber, before embarking on a solo career from 2010 in a direction more marked by rockabilly, doo‑wop and vintage soul with a danceable tempo. Si Cranstoun’s singing is part of a direct songwriting approach, nourished by the classic forms of British and American rhythm and blues, with arrangements that blend rock’n’roll energy, ska colours in the background and retro pop choruses. His discography includes several independent albums, among them Get Lively (2009), Skinny Jeans (2009), Alternative Floor Fillers (2010) and Dancehalls and Supper Clubs (2012), followed by Modern Life (2014) on East West and Old School (2015). Spotted in the early 2010s, Si Cranstoun also toured club and small‑venue stages, maintaining that connection to a popular live tradition that runs through his entire repertoire.
