Sven Weisemann

Born in 1983 in Bad Segeberg, Germany, Sven Weisemann has developed since the mid-2000s a personal approach to deep house and atmospheric techno, informed by ambient, jazz and a filmic sensibility. Based in Berlin, the producer and DJ became known through a series of maxi singles on the Mojuba label, where his sonic signature — muted rhythms, supple basses and harmonically detailed chords — has been refined across releases. A self-taught multi-instrumentalist, Weisemann regularly incorporates piano, guitar and near-orchestral arrangements into his compositions, which he also explored on album with Xine in 2009 and Xine II in 2014, two long-players that highlight a more cinematic and contemplative side of his work. Alongside his house productions, he pursues a more ambient and downtempo strand under the alias Desolate and also works as a composer for film and media. In his DJ sets, Sven Weisemann extends his taste for deep textures through selections centered on house and underground techno, presented in clubs and festivals across Europe and on international stages.
