Save Ferris

Emerging from the Orange County, California scene, Save Ferris appeared in the mid-1990s in the wake of Southern California ska-punk. The band, then led by Monique Powell and a brass section, blended ska, melodic punk and pop into a fast, danceable style strongly shaped by live energy. After the EP Introducing Save Ferris in 1996, they signed to Epic and released It Means Everything in 1997, an album that established their identity between pop choruses, a horn section and punk-derived rhythms. Their cover of "Come On Eileen", released the same year, remains one of their most recognizable tracks. With Modified in 1999, Save Ferris shifted their songwriting toward a more pop-punk sound while retaining a ska foundation and a direct approach. Active on the American alternative circuit in the late 1990s, the band toured the Warped Tour before splitting up in the early 2000s. Revived from 2013 around Monique Powell, Save Ferris returned with a new lineup and released the EP Checkered Past in 2017, which includes "New Sound" featuring Neville Staple. More recently, Save Ferris has added new singles to their discography, including "Xmas Blue" in 2023, "Lights Out in the Reptile House" in 2024 and "Get Dancing" in 2025.
