Slow Magic
Slow Magic is a masked electronic project that emerged in the United States in the early 2010s. Its music sits at the intersection of indietronica, dream pop and downtempo, featuring airy synth pads, supple rhythms and an increasing emphasis on live percussion. Slow Magic first drew attention with anonymous, instrumental and atmospheric tracks before expanding into more vocal-led electronic pop on How to Run Away (2014). After a period of international touring—including a stay in Iceland and a first show in Japan—the songwriting shifted toward more contrasted compositions, balancing melodic softness, a physical pulse and introspective moods. This phase also opened the project to more vocal collaborations, notably with MNDR, Kate Boy, Tropics and Peter Silberman. On stage, Slow Magic maintains a masked visual identity and a format that blends electronic sets with concert energy, an immersive yet direct aesthetic. The project continued with forgotten feels and in 2024 announced an expanded reissue of How to Run Away for the record’s tenth anniversary.
