Roog

Active in the Netherlands since the late 1990s, Roog has built a career as a DJ and producer rooted in house in its various forms, with soulful, funk and disco inflections and a more directly club‑oriented energy. Roog established himself on the Dutch scene with sets built on three—and later four—turntables, where the mix relies on assembling personal edits, acapellas and tight transitions in a continuous dancefloor approach. As a solo artist, Roog works with an aesthetic centered on groove, vocals and movement between classic house and more contemporary formats, without limiting himself to a single subgenre. His trajectory also continues through the Hardsoul and Housequake projects, which play an important role in his activity and highlight another facet of his relationship to collective, rhythmic and cross‑pollinating house. Present in the Dutch house ecosystem for more than two decades, Roog remains associated with a way of mixing and producing in which selection, editing and reinterpretation of tracks occupy a central place.
