Pilocka Krach

Born in East Berlin and raised between Köpenick and Berlin-Mitte, Pilocka Krach has since the early 2010s developed a project situated between techno, electro, spoken word and offbeat pop forms, with a marked preference for dry rhythms, repetitive grooves and shouted texts. DJ, producer and musician, Pilocka Krach is part of the Berlin electronic scene while maintaining a singular approach, nourished by the club, performance and vocal work that plays as much on irony as on directness. Her discography includes notably the EPs Schlager (2012), A Big Warm Nice Fire (2013), Do You Like the Beat? (2015), Sugar Cane & The Lost Amigos (2017) and Joy (2020). Part of her music was produced between Berlin, Detroit and Mexico, after a stay in Detroit in 2016 as part of a Musicboard Berlin fellowship, where she formed ties with the Underground Resistance environment. Pilocka Krach also releases on her own label, Greatest Hits International, and regularly appears on festival and club stages in Germany. Alongside her musical activity, Pilocka Krach also took part in the documentary series Call me DJ!, devoted to the place of women in electronic music.
