River Tiber

Under the name River Tiber, Canadian musician, singer, and producer Tommy Paxton-Beesley has, from his base in Toronto, developed a hybrid approach that bridges contemporary R&B, experimental pop, and electronic textures. A multi-instrumentalist, he composes and arranges most of his music himself, combining falsetto vocals, dense harmonies, and meticulously crafted atmospheres reminiscent of psychedelic soul and downtempo. The project began gaining traction in the early 2010s with a series of independent releases, before coalescing around the EP The Star Falls in 2013 and then When the Time Is Right in 2015, which established a sound defined by slow tempos, supple basslines, and introspective songwriting. In 2016, the album Indigo deepened this aesthetic, steering it toward a more pop-oriented form of songwriting while keeping the focus squarely on production. At the same time, River Tiber became part of the North American hip-hop and R&B scene by co-writing, singing, or playing on other projects, notably with Drake, Kaytranada, and BADBADNOTGOOD, anchoring him in a network of collaborations where beatmakers, jazz groups, and rappers intersect.
