Paraziții

In Bucharest, Paraziții formed in 1994 around Cheloo, joined that same year by Ombladon, with Freakadadisk arriving in 1999. The trio is part of Romanian hip-hop dominated by boom bap, infused with hardcore rap and a political, satirical edge; their lyrics are direct and often focus on urban life, social tensions and relations with institutions. Early milestones in Paraziții's discography include Poezii pentru pereți (1995), Nimic normal (1996), Suta (1997) and Nici o problemă (1999), which helped establish the group on the local hip-hop scene. In the 2000s they released Iartă-mă (2000), Categoria grea (2001), Irefutabil (2002), Confort 3 (2005), Slalom printre cretini (2007) and Tot ce e bun tre să dispară (2010), followed by Lovitură de pedeapsă (2016) and Arma secretă (2019). Their career has also been marked by several controversies regarding the censorship of some videos and by a strong live presence. Alongside the group, Cheloo and Ombladon have pursued solo projects, while Paraziții's aesthetic has remained a dry, confrontational rap deeply rooted in the Romanian context.
