Old Crow Medicine Show

Formed in 1998 around Ketch Secor and Chris 'Critter' Fuqua, Old Crow Medicine Show came together between Harrisonburg, Virginia, the old-time scene of Ithaca, New York, and Nashville, where the collective settled in the early 2000s. This American string band blends old-time music, folk, bluegrass, Americana, alt-country and blues into a taut acoustic format driven by fiddle, banjo, harmonica, mandolin and vocal harmonies. Discovered in 2000 by Doc Watson while the group was playing on the street in Boone, North Carolina, Old Crow Medicine Show went on to make a name on American folk and roots stages, from MerleFest to the Newport Folk Festival, while building a repertoire of originals and interpretations of pre-World War II traditions. Their discography includes O.C.M.S. (2004), Big Iron World (2006), Tennessee Pusher (2008), Carry Me Back (2012), Remedy (2014), Volunteer (2018), Paint This Town (2022) and Jubilee (2023). They also recorded 50 Years of Blonde on Blonde in 2017, a live reworking of Bob Dylan — whose influence runs through their career, from the co-authorship of 'Wagon Wheel' to collaborations around his songs. Despite several lineup changes, Old Crow Medicine Show has endured and has been a member of the Grand Ole Opry since 2013.
