Niels Geusebroek
Born in Amsterdam in 1979, Niels Geusebroek first made his mark on the Dutch rock scene as the singer of Silkstone, a band active in the late 1990s and 2000s that released albums such as For a Reason (2003) and Here in Your World (2008). After Silkstone ended, he moved toward more intimate, acoustic songwriting and took part in season 2 of The Voice of Holland in 2011, a step that established him as a solo artist in Dutch pop. His work blends melodic pop, light folk and ballads carried by a clear voice, with lyrics focused on relationships, doubt and everyday life. In 2012 he broadened his audience by lending his voice to the dance track "Year of Summer" by producer Wildstylez, connecting him to the electronic scene while remaining identified as a singer‑songwriter. He subsequently released singles like "Take Your Time Girl," developing an accessible acoustic pop sound often built around guitar and spare arrangements. Between club gigs, Dutch festivals and occasional collaborations with other musicians, Niels Geusebroek continues a career centered on contemporary Dutch pop, navigating between radio formats and small‑band performances.
