Niccolò Fabi

Born in Rome in 1968, Niccolò Fabi is a singer-songwriter rooted in the Italian tradition, with lyric-focused writing, understated arrangements and a musical language that blends acoustic pop, folk and light rock. After beginnings on the Roman circuit, he gained attention at the Sanremo Festival in 1997 with "Capelli" and released Il giardiniere that same year. In 1998 he issued the album Niccolò Fabi, notably propelled by "Lasciarsi un giorno a Roma." His discography then developed at a steady pace with Sereno ad Ovest (2000), La cura del tempo (2003), Novo Mesto (2006) and Solo un uomo (2009), where an increasingly intimate writing style took hold. In the 2010s Fabi broadened his palette with Ecco (2012) and the joint project Fabi Silvestri Gazzè with Daniele Silvestri and Max Gazzè around Il padrone della festa (2014). He continued solo with Una somma di piccole cose (2016), the retrospective Diventi Inventi 1997-2017, Tradizione e tradimento (2019) and Meno per meno (2022), an album revisiting part of his repertoire in an orchestral setting.
