Nadau
Nadau is an emblematic group of the Occitan scene, founded in the 1970s around Joan de Nadau (Jean-Louis Bergès) and Michel Maffrand, known as Nadau. Hailing from the Pyrenees, the band sincerely blends traditional song, popular poetry and cultural commitment, embodying for decades the pride and vitality of the Occitan language. Their repertoire, sung in Occitan and French, draws on the roots of the land, collective memory and the landscapes of the Southwest, while addressing with humanity universal themes of life, love and transmission. Tracks such as L’Immortèla, De cap tà l’immortèla and Mon dieu que j’en suis à mon aise have become true regional anthems. In concert, Nadau brings together all generations in a fraternal atmosphere where emotion, laughter and nostalgia mingle. With more than forty years of career, the group is far more than a musical symbol: it is the living guardian of a culture and a language that continue to resonate, from village to village, from heart to heart.
