Aurélie Cabrel

Born in 1986 in France, Aurélie Cabrel develops a writing style rooted in the register of the French chanson, with a taste for acoustic pop melodies and sober arrangements. Daughter of Francis Cabrel, she grows up in an environment linked to song but forges her path with her own compositions, first through patient writing work before publishing her first album, Oserais-je? in 2011, followed by À la même chaîne in 2014. Aurélie Cabrel's repertoire relies on personal lyrics, a measured interpretation, and an aesthetic that remains close to contemporary French variety, between intimate chanson and light pop. Over the years, Aurélie Cabrel also broadens her activities toward projects aimed at a younger audience. With Esthen Dehut, she co-writes the musical tale Zélie la Pirate and participates in the creation of the Baboo Music label, in an approach that extends her storytelling in music.
