Mwuana

Born in Stockholm under the name Robin Erik Nyström and raised in Bromsten, Mwuana has established himself in Swedish rap since the mid-2010s with a writing that blends hip-hop, R&B and soulful melodies in a format that is often introspective. Coming from a background also marked by Finnish family origins, Mwuana develops a style where rap phrasing remains central, carried by flexible productions, sung refrains and a constant attention to atmospheres. He made his public debut as an artist in 2015, then quickly broadened his audience in Sweden with tracks circulating both in rap scenes and in contexts more open to urban pop. His first album Triller was released in 2017, followed by the EP H5 in 2020, two releases showing a mobile approach between contemporary rap, R&B and more melancholic textures. Over the course of his career, Mwuana has also been associated with artists such as Petter, Timbuktu, Rosh or Julia Adams, while maintaining a distinct identity, softer than frontal. Present on Swedish stages and at several festivals, Mwuana is part of a generation of Nordic artists who work rap in close connection with singing codes and a sober urban aesthetic.
