Mourn

From Cabrils, near Barcelona, Mourn took shape in 2013 around a Catalan quartet whose songwriting sits between post-punk, indie rock, grunge and noise pop. Mourn’s sound relies on cutting guitars, a dry rhythm section, tense melodic lines and vocals—often shared—sung in English, in compact songs that favour direct impact. Initially noticed on the local independent scene, Mourn quickly expanded internationally with a self-titled debut in 2014, followed by Ha, Ha, He. (2016), Sorpresa Familia (2018) and Self Worth (2022). Across these records Mourn maintains a punky, abrasive core while evolving arrangements toward a slightly broader writing style, without losing its taste for short structures, contrasts of dynamics and constant melodic tension. Mourn has thus found its place in indie and alternative rock circuits, playing venues, tours and festivals in Spain and abroad.
