Mostly Autumn

Formed in York in northern England in 1995, Mostly Autumn was built around Bryan Josh and Iain Jennings with a progressive rock formula that blends melodic guitars, atmospheric keyboards, folk and Celtic touches, and heavier passages that verge on hard rock. The band's early discographic landmarks are For All We Shared... (1998), The Spirit of Autumn Past (1999) and The Last Bright Light (2001), which established this expansive, narrative songwriting. Mostly Autumn toured extensively on the British and European progressive scene, maintaining a steady live presence while remaining independent in their production. The group's history is also marked by several lineup changes, notably in the vocal department: Heather Findlay played a central role until 2010, after which Olivia Sparnenn-Josh, present since 2004, took over the forefront. Over the years Mostly Autumn broadened its palette with Glass Shadows (2008), Go Well Diamond Heart (2010), The Ghost Moon Orchestra (2012), Sight of Day (2017), White Rainbow (2019) and Graveyard Star (2021). In its current form, Mostly Autumn retains an identity between progressive rock, folk rock and melodic lyricism, driven by a collective in which the voices, guitars and keyboard arrangements remain central.
