Morandi
Born in Bucharest in 2004, Morandi brought together Marius Moga and Andrei Ropcea, aka Randi, into a Romanian duo that blends europop, dance and synthpop with songwriting aimed at melodic choruses and productions calibrated for radio and club play. Morandi first established itself on the Romanian scene with the singles 'Love Me' and then 'Beijo (Uh-La-La)', before releasing Reverse in 2005, followed by Mind Fields in 2006 and N3XT in 2007. Over this initial period, the project occasionally broadened its live formula while keeping the Moga-Randi duo at the core. Morandi's sound combines dance rhythms, synth textures and pop vocal lines, with a regular nod to Balkan or Eastern European accents in some tracks. The group's reach quickly surpassed Romania with 'Angels (Love Is the Answer)' and 'Save Me', the latter recorded with Helene, then with 'Colors', which extended this direction toward accessible international electronic pop. After several singles tied to the Zebra period, an album announced but not confirmed in a complete studio discography, Morandi paused at the start of the 2010s, then returned intermittently with 'Everytime We Touch' in 2013, 'Keep You Safe' in 2016, 'Kalinka' in 2018 and 'Professional Liar' in 2019. Separated in 2021, Morandi resumed activity in 2024 with new tracks, including 'No Sleep' with Eneli.
