Mikel Erentxun
Born in Caracas in 1965 and raised from childhood in San Sebastián, Mikel Erentxun has since the 1980s been part of the Spanish rock landscape with a melodic writing that blends pop-rock, folk and an acoustic sensibility often shaped by the Anglo-Saxon tradition. He first became known as the vocalist of Duncan Dhu, a group formed in 1984 with Diego Vasallo and Juan Ramón Viles, whose trajectory traversed the Spanish-language rock scene through the early 2000s, before a sporadic reform in the 2010s. In parallel, Mikel Erentxun developed a solo career begun with Naufragios in 1992, continued notably with El abrazo del erizo in 1995, Acróbatas in 1998, Te dejas ver in 2000 and Ciudades de paso in 2003. Over the albums, Erentxun's repertoire evolves toward leaner or more electric forms depending on the period, without moving away from a song-centered format featuring guitars and sober arrangements. His trajectory also includes collaborations with musicians from rock and pop, as well as regular live performances in Spain. In the 2010s and 2020s, Erentxun published among others 24 golpes and Eléctrica PKWY in 2012, Corazones in 2015, El hombre sin sombra in 2017, El último vuelo del hombre bala in 2019, Amigos de Guardia in 2021, Septiembre in 2023 and Navidad in 2024, confirming a continuous path between pop heritage, singer‑songwriter rock and folk textures.
