Mi Casa

Formed in Johannesburg in 2011, Mi Casa brings together J'Something on vocals and guitar, Dr. Duda on production and piano, and Mo-T on trumpet. The South African trio operates within a melodic house style that blends deep house and soulful house with elements of soul and jazz, designed as much for the club as for live performance. Mi Casa quickly emerged on the South African scene with the track “These Streets,” and cemented that identity with the album Mi Casa (2011). The group continued along this path with Su Casa (2013), Home Sweet Home (2015), Familia (2017) and We Made It (2020), evolving their sound while remaining rooted in house. Over the years Mi Casa has moved between festivals, clubs and large stages across South Africa, while also performing internationally. Documented collaborations include, notably, Black Coffee. Mi Casa’s music relies on supple rhythms, soulful vocal lines, a prominent trumpet presence and arrangements that keep a constant link to dance without being confined to a strictly electronic format.
