Melody
Born in Dos Hermanas, Andalusia, Melodía Ruiz Gutiérrez, known as Melody, established herself early on in Spanish pop with a repertoire mixing pop latino, rumba, merengue, flamenco pop and dance songs. Melody became known as a child in 2001 with the track «El baile del gorila» from the album De pata negra (2001), then followed with Muévete (2002), T.Q.M. (2003) and Melodía (2004), where her range shifted from festive pop toward more adolescent songwriting and contemporary productions. After a relative pause, Melody returned with Los buenos días (2008), took part in Spain’s preselection for Eurovision 2009 with «Amante de la luna» alongside Los Vivancos, and continued her career with singles, television and live performances, while retaining roots in Spanish popular music. In 2014, Melody released Mucho camino por andar, an album that further broadened her spectrum between ballad, upbeat pop and tropical touches. Her subsequent trajectory has been marked mainly by single releases — notably «Parapapá», «Rúmbame», «Sin Ley» and «Mujer Loba» — as well as collaborations with DJ Pana, Mario Frangoulis and Descemer Bueno. In 2025 Melody represented Spain at Eurovision after winning the Benidorm Fest with «Esa diva».
