Neue Grafik

Behind Neue Grafik is Fred N’thepe, a musician, composer, keyboardist, DJ and producer born in Paris around 1990. Trained in the French capital, Neue Grafik grew up with 1990s New York hip-hop before, as a teenager, turning to the jazz of Charlie Parker and Miles Davis — a dual anchoring that still shapes his writing. Later settling in south London to get closer to the local jazz scene, he developed a language in which house, jazz and rhythms drawn from urban music intersect in tracks that are both club-oriented and melodic. Under the name Neue Grafik he released a series of singles and EPs from the early 2010s, followed by the EP Soul Conspiracy in 2017. His album Foulden Road, released in 2019, extends this approach by combining piano playing, jazz composition and electronic pulse. Neue Grafik’s trajectory is thus shared between house production, arrangement work and instrumental practice, with a constant link between Paris and London — two scenes that have nourished the evolution of his project.
