Mutiny On the Bounty
Formed in 2004 in Esch-sur-Alzette, Luxembourg, Mutiny On the Bounty sits at the crossroads of math rock, indie rock and post-hardcore, with compositions featuring jagged rhythms, nervous guitars and, over the years, an increasing emphasis on electronic textures. After a first split released in 2005 with Treasure Chest at the End of the Rainbow, Mutiny On the Bounty developed this language on Danger Mouth (2009) and then on Trials (2012), recorded in Seattle with producer Matt Bayles. The band keeps a taut rock foundation while accentuating contrasts, repetitive motifs and fragmented constructions. In 2011 the lineup changed with the arrival of Clement Delporte and Cedric Czaika, and Mutiny On the Bounty continued as a quartet. Digital Tropics (2015) marks a new turn, with a more synthetic writing style where post-hardcore energy engages more with sequences close to electronic music and post-rock. Mutiny On the Bounty has also toured extensively across Europe, the United States and Asia, playing festivals such as SXSW, Primavera Sound, Reeperbahn and ArcTanGent.
