Maiden United

Maiden uniteD, a Dutch acoustic project led by bassist Joey Bruers, revisits Iron Maiden’s repertoire by turning the songs into stripped-down arrangements that emphasize vocals and harmony rather than electric saturation. Born out of early on-stage adaptations and captured on the 2010 album Mind the Acoustic Pieces, which reinterprets Piece of Mind, Maiden uniteD continued this reimagining with Across the Seventh Sea (2012) and Remembrance (2015), before further broadening the scope with The Barrel House Tapes in 2019. The collective rests on a stable core gathered around Bruers and calls on singers from the metal and progressive rock scenes, including Damian Wilson, to shape atmospheres ranging from folk ballad and acoustic rock to more intimate moods. On stage, Maiden uniteD favors clubs and theaters across Europe, where Iron Maiden songs are performed in rearranged versions—sometimes close to chamber music, sometimes closer to an acoustic rock set.
