Mahmut Orhan

Producer and DJ based in Istanbul, Mahmut Orhan has developed since the early 2010s a sound that sits between deep house, melodic house and electronic pop, nourished by oriental motifs and slow basslines. Born in Bursa, Turkey, he first honed his craft within the local scene before releasing his earliest tracks through European labels specializing in house. The single “Feel,” featuring Turkish singer Sena Sener and released in 2016, showcases his blend of airy vocals, string arrangements and downtempo rhythms, and steered his subsequent output toward a vocal-forward melodic house. Mahmut Orhan then pursued numerous collaborations with different singers and produced remixes for other producers, while playing many DJ sets at clubs and festivals across Europe and the Middle East. His productions often combine acoustic instruments, Anatolian or Balkan inspirations, effective club structures and song-like formats, placing him at the crossroads of dance, pop and more alternative electronic scenes.
