Monsieur Lune

Born in Paris under the name Nicolas Pantalacci, Monsieur Lune has since the late 1990s built a career as a singer-songwriter rooted in French chanson, characterized by narrative writing, often tinged with humor, offbeatness, and daily-life observation. His music relies on acoustic formats where the guitar plays a central role, in a register that blends chanson, light pop, and melodic whimsy while preserving an intimate approach. Monsieur Lune released his first EP, Oui, peut-être, mais c’est pas sûr, in 2000, followed by the albums Le Soir au réveil in 2001, Déguisé en moi in 2004, and C’est pas moi in 2007, which gradually established his universe. Alongside his records, he develops projects for young audiences and narrated musical forms, notably with L’incroyable histoire de Gaston et Lucie in 2010, a collective work bringing together among others Gérald Genty, Pierre Santini, Carmen Maria Vega, Ben Ricour, Oldelaf and Monsieur D, Yves Jamait, and Cécile Hercule. He then continued with Il pleut des luges in 2011 and the EP Madame in 2015. Present on stage in varied contexts, Monsieur Lune circulates a French chanson that plays with characters, situations, and a certain theatricality, without breaking with the form of the sung narrative.
