Matt Dusk

Born in Toronto in 1978, Matthew-Aaron Dusk began his vocal training at St. Michael’s Choir School, an environment rooted in choral singing, opera and classical music, before turning in his teens to jazz, swing and pop. After attending York University, where he studied jazz theory and voice, Matt Dusk launched his career in the early 2000s with several independent recordings, including The Way It Is (2001), and signed with Decca in 2003. His repertoire fits the aesthetic of a contemporary crooner, featuring big band arrangements, supple phrasing and a mix of standards, original compositions and pop reinterpretations. He went on to release Two Shots (2004), Peace on Earth (2004), Back in Town (2006) and Good News (2009), while performing in Las Vegas and on stages such as the Warsaw Jazz Jamboree in 2008. In the 2010s Dusk continued this work with My Funny Valentine: The Chet Baker Songbook (2013), the duet album Just the Two of Us with Margaret (2015) and Quiet Nights with Florence K (2016). His recent discography also includes Old School Yule! (2016), Jet Set Jazz (2018), Sinatra with Matt Dusk (2020) and Sinatra with Matt Dusk Vol. 2 (2021).
