Laurent Coulondre
Born in Nîmes in 1989, Laurent Coulondre develops a career anchored in contemporary French jazz, between piano, organ and keyboards. Trained first in the Gard department and then in Toulouse, he continues his studies in Barcelona at the ESMUC, before settling in Paris in 2011. His playing ranges between acoustic jazz, groove, soul-jazz and funk influences, with writing that places a strong emphasis on rhythm and harmonic colours. After Opus I in 2011 and Opus II in 2013, Coulondre began to gain more recognition for his work with the trio Schizophrenia in 2015, then Gravity Zero in 2017, a duo project centered on the dialogue between keyboards and drums. In 2019 he dedicates the Michel on My Mind album to Michel Petrucciani, before publishing A Trip in Marseille and Meva Festa in 2022. His activity leads him to perform on many French stages such as Jazz in Marciac, Jazz à Vienne or Jazz à Juan, but also internationally. Over the years he has shared the stage or studio with musicians such as André Ceccarelli, Stéphane Huchard, Hugh Coltman, Robin McKelle, Joe Lovano or Peter Bernstein, while conducting teaching work in several structures dedicated to jazz.
