Laura White

Born in Atherton, Greater Manchester, Laura White has developed a repertoire that sits between soul, pop and jazz, driven by expansive vocal writing and a taste for direct melodies. She first came to public attention in 2008 through her participation in the fifth season of The X Factor in the UK, before pursuing a career divided between performing and songwriting. Her debut single, 'You Should Have Known', was released in 2009, followed by the EPs What My Mother Taught Me in 2013 and No.95 in 2016. Over the years she widened her scope by working in electronic pop and dance, as shown by her contributions to 'Love on Me' by Galantis and Hook N Sling (2016) and 'Gasoline' by Cash Cash (2020). At the same time she has written or co-written material for other artists, notably 'Nobody' for Inna in 2020, 'One Touch' for Steps the same year, and 'Someone Else’s Problem' for Beverley Knight in 2023. After several singles released in the 2020s, Laura White issued the album Woman to Woman in 2024, a synthesis of a career shared between stage, studio and songwriting.
