Kuult
Based in Essen, Germany, the pop trio Kuult has been developing German-language songwriting since the early 2010s, focusing on everyday life, relationships and questions of personal change. Fronted by singer Chris Werner and rounded out by Philipp Evers and Christian de Crau, Kuult belongs to the Deutschpop current, blending melodic pop with keyboards featuring electronic textures and guitars with a pronounced rhythmic role. The songs alternate between mid-tempos and more energetic formats, driven by a clear, prominent vocal that leaves ample space for chorused refrains. First noticed through digital releases and regular concerts in the Ruhr and elsewhere in Germany, Kuult has consolidated its presence on the German-language pop scene through club tours, support slots and appearances at regional festivals. Kuult's discography has gradually expanded through the 2010s and 2020s with several singles and long-format projects, allowing the band to explore different shades of its aesthetic, from electronically-tinged pop ballads to more direct, stage-oriented tracks.
