Kes the Band

Based in Trinidad and Tobago, Kes the Band formed in the mid-2000s around singer Kees Dieffenthaller, joined by his brothers Hans and Jon and bassist Riad Boochoon. Initially active on local club and carnival stages, the band developed a soca-centered sound enriched by calypso, pop, reggae and touches of R’n’B, featuring prominent guitars and rhythms designed for live performance. This approach quickly secured them a place in the Port of Spain Carnival circuit and on Caribbean stages, before expanding into North America and Europe, where they play many events linked to Caribbean diasporas. With tracks like 'Wotless' and 'Savannah Grass', Kes blends pop melodies with street-party vibes and regularly collaborates with regional artists and producers to explore the different shades of contemporary soca.
