Katty Heath
Based in the British scene, Katty Heath has since the early 2000s developed a career situated between indie song and electronic music. An English singer and songwriter, she initially moved within the orbit of the electro duo Bent, with whom she performed internationally between 2001 and 2009 and to whom she contributed her voice on the album Ariels, released in 2004. Katty Heath then built a regular activity as a collaborator, sought for a clear and melancholic timbre that fits just as well in downtempo, house or trance productions. Her name appears alongside producers and projects such as Mylo, Slyde, 12Tree, Fray Bentos or Crazy P, in a register where vocal pop meets supple electronic textures, sometimes more club, sometimes more contemplative. In parallel, Katty Heath also pursues a more independent side as the singer of the group Spotlight Kid, with dream pop and shoegaze contours, as well as through Little Thornrose, a more personal alias. This double presence between group format, featuring and pop writing explains a scattered but coherent career, rooted in scenes where melodic emotion remains central.
