Kamufle

Born in Fatih, Istanbul, Basri Fırat Bayraktar, performing under the name Kamufle, has built a career rooted in Turkish rap since the mid-2000s. Active since 2004 with his first recordings, Kamufle has entered the local hip-hop scene through concerts, jams and festivals in many Turkish cities. His writing sits in Turkish rap in fairly open forms, between boom bap, more melodic productions and occasional crossings with pop, while maintaining a text- and flow-centered approach. His discography includes notably Dutoserebrum with Sokrat ST in 2008, S.O.N in 2010, Gravür with Red in 2011, The Funk Poison in 2012, followed by solo albums Olumsuzluklar in 2012 and Hayale Daldım in 2015. Kamufle also published 19T in 2020 as well as Denge, a jointly released EP with Lara Di Lara in 2021. Over the years, he has worked with several artists from the Turkish rap and pop scenes, among them Gökçe, Allâme, Sansar Salvo or Da Poet, reflecting a trajectory oscillating between independent rap, more open formats and transversal collaborations. In parallel with music, Kamufle has also had acting work on television.
