Layo & Bushwacka!

Formed in London in the late 1990s, Layo & Bushwacka! brings together Layo Paskin and Matthew Benjamin (aka Bushwacka!), a British duo associated with tech house, with excursions into house and breakbeat. Their trajectory is rooted in the London club scene and the club The End—co‑founded by Layo Paskin with Mr. C—while Matthew Benjamin became the resident DJ after studying audio engineering and working as a percussionist. Layo & Bushwacka! emerged on End Recordings with "Low Life" in 1998 and moved toward a more structured, melodic approach on Night Works (2002), All Night Long (2003), Feels Closer (2006) and Rising & Falling (2012). Their music combines dry grooves, supple basslines, minimal rhythms and vocal or broken elements, crafted both for the dancefloor and for home listening. They also left a mark on the 2000s with the track "Love Story vs. Finally" and a series of remixes for artists such as Orbital, Jakatta, Depeche Mode and Paul Oakenfold, while remaining active on the international house and techno circuits.
