Jim Jefferies

Australian comedian Jim Jefferies, born in Sydney in 1977, first established himself on the stand-up scene in Australia and then in the UK before relocating to the United States. Jefferies’ comedy is mainly anecdotal and narrative, shaped by social observation, politics, religion and everyday life, with a marked willingness to tackle sensitive subjects head-on. After his first recording, Hell Bound (2008), he brought his shows to international audiences with Contraband the same year, followed by I Swear to God (2009) and Alcoholocaust (2010), before joining Netflix’s catalogue with specials such as Freedumb (2016), This Is Me Now (2018), Intolerant (2020), High & Dry (2023) and Two Limb Policy (2025). Alongside his stage work, Jefferies created and starred in the series Legit, which aired on FX from 2013 to 2014, and hosted The Jim Jefferies Show on Comedy Central from 2017 to 2019, a mix of current-commentary and field pieces. A regular at festivals like the Edinburgh Fringe, Just for Laughs and the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, he has also expanded into audio formats with the podcast Jim and Eddie Talkin’ Shit in the early 2010s, followed by I Don’t Know About That from 2020 and At This Moment in 2025, while continuing to tour and record stand-up regularly.
