Kitty Daisy & Lewis

A sibling trio based in London, Kitty Daisy & Lewis have developed since the early 2000s a highly personal take on American and British music from the 1940s to the 1960s. They blend rhythm and blues, rockabilly, swing, ska, soul and country, working on original compositions as well as reimagined covers. Born into a family of musicians, the three siblings play multiple instruments and share vocals and songwriting duties, often joined on stage by their parents, which reinforces the project's collective dimension. After several singles and EPs, their self-titled debut was released in 2008, followed by Smoking in Heaven in 2011, which deepened their rhythm and blues and doo-wop influences. In 2015 the album The Third, produced with Mick Jones, broadened Kitty Daisy & Lewis’s sound toward more soul- and pop-tinged textures without abandoning the group's vintage aesthetic. Superscope in 2017 continued this evolution, accentuating contrasts between uptempo numbers and more stripped-down ballads. Both live and in the studio, Kitty Daisy & Lewis emphasize live energy, tight group vocal arrangements and an unapologetic connection to rock’n’roll roots.
