Joseph Capriati

Emerging from Naples’ techno scene, Joseph Capriati began shaping his identity as a DJ and producer in the mid-2000s between Caserta, where he grew up, and the clubs of Naples. Quickly associated with an energetic yet tightly structured techno sound, he released his first EPs on Italian labels before joining the Drumcode fold, cementing his place on the European circuit. The album “Self Portrait” (2013) marked a milestone in Capriati’s discography, with writing focused on repetitive loops, gradual build-ups, and precise control of rhythmic tension, while “Metamorfosi” (2020) broadened the palette toward more melodic and introspective textures. His style blends a firm techno foundation—at times bordering on tech-house—with clearly etched synth lines and a sense of groove rooted in the clubs of southern Italy. Active on major festival stages as well as in extended club settings, Capriati balances hard-driving sets with more atmospheric passages, and since the mid-2010s has developed his own Redimension label as a platform for personal projects and select collaborations.
