Gud
Appearing in Stockholm’s rap and online scene in the early 2010s, Gud—initially known as Yung Gud—helped shape the sound of Sad Boys alongside Yung Lean and Yung Sherman. The Swedish producer early on developed an aesthetic defined by slowed trap rhythms, cold synth layers and hazy melodies, with strong ties to ambient textures and cloud rap forms. His early productions circulated widely with Yung Lean’s rise; later, Gud broadened his palette toward more stripped-down electronic music, sometimes edging into experimental pop, while retaining a taste for airy textures and melancholic arrangements. Alongside his production work, he releases material under his own name and explores a different register with Död Mark, formed with Yung Lean, where the songwriting moves toward post-punk and cold wave sung in Swedish. Over the years Gud has remained connected to this Swedish constellation between rap, electronic music and alternative pop, favoring a studio approach that emphasizes atmosphere, space and often minimalist structures.
