Graham Bonnet
Born in Skegness, England, in 1947, Graham Bonnet has built a singular career between pop, hard rock and heavy metal, supported by a powerful timbre and very melodic singing. Initially active in the late 1960s as part of the duo The Marbles, Bonnet made his mark in a pop‑soul register before turning to a solo career, notably with the album 'Line‑Up' in 1981, which featured a more assertive rock sound. His arrival in Rainbow in the late 1970s placed him firmly on the hard rock scene—he lent his voice to the album 'Down to Earth' (1979)—and he continued this trajectory with the Michael Schenker Group on 'Assault Attack' (1982). Bonnet went on to found the group Alcatrazz, active in the mid‑1980s, where his vocals combined with highly technical guitars in a blend of melodic heavy metal and AOR influences, before moving on to further collaborations, notably with Impellitteri. Established on European and North American rock stages, Graham Bonnet has alternated since the 2000s between band projects, including the Graham Bonnet Band, and solo work, remaining associated with a melodic hard rock shaped by the legacy of the 1970s and 1980s.
