Gloria Trevi

Born in Monterrey, in the state of Nuevo León, Mexico, Gloria Trevi rose to prominence in the late 1980s with a Latin pop sound marked by rock, synths, ballads and direct songwriting. After a stint with the group Boquitas Pintadas, she launched a solo career with ¿Qué hago aquí? in 1989, followed by Tu ángel de la guarda (1991), Me siento tan sola (1992) and Más turbada que nunca (1994) — albums that established an energetic, theatrical and often provocative pop aesthetic. Her career was interrupted around the turn of the 2000s by a lengthy legal case, before a recording comeback with Cómo nace el universo in 2004. Trevi then continued to operate between pop, balladry and more dance-oriented registers with Una Rosa Blu (2007), Gloria (2011), De película (2013), El Amor (2015), Diosa de la Noche (2019) and Isla Divina (2022). Performing across Latin America, the United States and Spain, Gloria Trevi has over three decades built a trajectory that intersects Spanish-language pop, stage performance and autobiographical writing.
