Giovani Cidreira
Originally from Bahia, Brazil, Giovani Cidreira has been developing since the mid‑2010s a music that links Brazilian song, pop, Afro‑Brazilian rhythms and electronic textures. As a singer‑songwriter he broadened his visibility with Japanese Food (2017), his first album where songwriting takes a central place within a contemporary production. He continued with Nebulosa Baby (2021) and Carnaval eu chego lá (2024), evolving a language that mixes MPB melodies, more urban pulses and arrangements of shifting colors. His trajectory also intersects with current Brazilian artists such as Urias, Don L, Liniker and Linn da Quebrada through collaborations that extend his dialogue with alternative pop and Brazil’s Black music traditions. Between auteur song, popular forms and sonic research, Giovani Cidreira is part of the contemporary Brazilian independent scene.
