Genitorturers
Formed in Orlando, Florida around singer Gen, Genitorturers has since the late 1980s developed a fusion of industrial rock, industrial metal and hard rock, marked by heavy rhythms, sharp guitars and a live aesthetic tied to BDSM and performance art. Initially active in Florida's alternative scene, the band recorded House of Shame in 1991, followed by their first album 120 Days of Genitorture in 1993. Through lineup changes, Gen remains the center of the project, at times accompanied by musicians such as David Vincent, Eric Griffin or Joe Letz. Genitorturers continued its trajectory with Sin City in 1998, then Machine Love in 2000, a remix album that notably includes their cover of I Touch Myself, before the EP Flesh Is the Law in 2002 and Blackheart Revolution in 2009. Their journey includes tours in the United States, Europe, Japan and Australia, as well as several appearances in popular culture, with tracks featured in soundtracks and video games such as Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines. Between industrial metal, provocative rock and fetishistic imagery, Genitorturers sits in a vein where the visual dimension holds as much place as the music.
