Francesca Michielin
Born in Bassano del Grappa in Veneto, Francesca Michielin established herself in Italian pop at the beginning of the 2010s after winning X Factor Italy in 2011. Singer and songwriter, she quickly develops a personal writing style that blends pop, electropop, contemporary Italian song and indie touches, with a marked taste for direct melodies and arrangements that move between acoustic and more synthetic production. After the 2012 EP Distratto, Francesca Michielin released Riflessi di me in the same year, then di20 in 2015, 2640 in 2018, Feat (stato di natura) in 2020 and Cani sciolti in 2023. Her career also includes several collaborations visible in the Italian pop and urban scene, notably with Fedez, Carl Brave, Coma_Cose, Shiva or Måneskin, without breaking with an identity centered on writing and interpretation. Francesca Michielin has participated in several editions of the Sanremo Festival, finishing second in 2016 with Nessun grado di separazione and then in 2021 with Chiamami per nome as a duo with Fedez, before representing Italy at Eurovision 2016 with No Degree of Separation. On stage, Francesca Michielin alternates club tours, more intimate formats and electronic-dominated projects, in a repertoire where pop remains the anchor.
