Indochine
Indochine is a French rock band with New Wave influences, formed in Paris in 1981 by Nicola Sirkis and Dominique Nicolas, soon joined by Dimitri Bodianski and Stéphane Sirkis. That same year they played their first shows at the Paris club Le Rose Bonbon, where they quickly won over audiences. Shortly after they signed their first contract and recorded "Dizzidence Politik" in 1981. A year later the quartet recorded the future hit "L’Aventurier", which became a smash and received heavy radio play during the summer of 1983. Indochine was launched, praised by both crowds and the press. Their debut album, "L’Aventurier", was released in 1983 and enjoyed great success. On stage the band was so well received that audiences always wanted more. As an 80s musical phenomenon, Indochine continued to grow through tours and albums that sold in the thousands, such as "Paradize" (2002) and "Alice & June" (2005). The lineup changed over time: Bodianski left in 1989, Nicolas departed four years later, and Stéphane Sirkis tragically died in 1999. In 2013, with the release of "Black City Parade", Indochine comprised Boris Jardel, François Régis Matuszenski, François Soulier, Marc Eliard, Nicola Sirkis and Olivier Gérard. The band then embarked on a lengthy 2013 tour, performing numerous venue and festival dates.
