Housemeister
Under the name Housemeister, Martin Böhm has built a career from Berlin linked to German techno of the 2000s. Born in 1977 in northern Germany and raised in East Berlin, he went through graffiti and hip-hop before turning to rave culture in the mid-1990s and then to DJing. Active from the late 1990s in the orbit of BPitch Control, Ellen Allien’s label, Housemeister released his first maxis with "Wake Up!" in 2002, establishing a style situated between techno, electro and rave energy, with a dry, dense and direct sound. His first album, Enlarge Your Dose, appeared in 2006 on Boysnoize Records, followed by Who Is That Noize in 2008 on AYCB, a label he co-founded with Dirty Doering. Housemeister also developed several side projects there—most notably On/Off with Fabian Feyerabendt of Toktok, Montagskino with Tony Planet—and collaborated with Dave Tarrida. His discography also includes Music Is Awesome (2011), OP-1 (2013) and Game Over (The Game Boy Album) (2013). He also releases under the pseudonym Otherfucker and has produced remixes for Boys Noize, Zombie Nation, Paul Kalkbrenner and Modeselektor.
