Hans Zimmer

Born in Frankfurt am Main in 1957, Hans Zimmer established himself from the 1980s onward as a film composer, moving from London’s pop and synthesizer scene to scoring for picture alongside Stanley Myers. After settling in Los Angeles, he developed a hybrid style that blends symphonic orchestra, electronic textures, and repetitive rhythmic motifs, serving both mainstream Hollywood cinema and more intimate productions. His career took on an international profile with the score for "Rain Man" in 1988, followed by "The Lion King" in 1994, before he went on to score historical epics, animated films, and action franchises. Zimmer notably worked on "Gladiator" (2000), the "Dark Knight" trilogy, "Inception" (2010), "Interstellar" (2014), and "Dune" (2021), often in close collaboration with directors such as Christopher Nolan and Ridley Scott. Through his Remote Control Productions studio, he also mentors other screen composers and, since the 2010s, has brought his soundtracks to the stage with symphonic concert tours.
